Privacy policy

Deepline ("we") makes the Deepline apps for Android and Windows and this website, deeplinechess.com. This policy explains what information they handle and why. In short: we have no user accounts, no ads and no analytics, and we do not sell data.

Your cloud provider account

To run the engine on a cloud server, you connect your own Verda account by entering your Verda Client ID and Client Secret.
These credentials are stored encrypted on your device (Android Keystore on Android, Windows data protection on Windows). They are sent only to Verda's API and never to us.
The app creates a key for a secure connection to your server on your device and registers it with your Verda account.
Servers are created in your Verda account and deleted when you stop. Chess positions you analyze are sent to your own server. Verda's own privacy policy applies to your Verda account.

Live games

Live tournaments come from the public Lichess broadcast service (lichess.org). The app downloads tournament and game data from Lichess.
If you choose "Login with Lichess", Lichess gives the app an access token, which is stored encrypted on your device and sent only to Lichess. You can log out at any time.

Data on your device

Your saved games, favorite games and players, settings and session cost history are stored only on your device. Uninstalling the app removes them.

Licenses and payments

Payments are handled by our reseller, Lemon Squeezy, which acts as merchant of record and processes your payment details under its own privacy policy. We receive your email address and order details. The app checks your license key with Lemon Squeezy's license service.

This website

The website is hosted by Netlify, which keeps standard server logs.
If you join the private beta, we receive the email address and the optional details you enter through the form. We use them only to contact you about the beta and the launch, and delete them when you ask us to.
The site loads fonts from Google Fonts.

Your choices

You can ask us what we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by writing to hello@deeplinechess.com. Deepline is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

If this policy changes, we will update the date above and, for important changes, announce them on this website.
